National service by creating sustainable rural societies which are self-reliant, productive, informed, prosperous and knowledgeable as well as enhancement of health of natural and man-made ecosystems in rural landscapes of India through key scientific interventions, which are compatible with needs and priorities of rural populations.

Objectives

Targets

Although we began with a focus on rural livelihoods, over the years, our work has now encompassed production systems and institutions, devising key interventions at watershed levels for holistic natural resource management and their interface with ecology. Gradually, in nearly every site, this understanding has led to conservation interventions and outreach efforts designed, implemented and monitored in close partnership with a diverse range of local stakeholders. We have believed in long term engagement with rural societies and developing their capacity and attitude towards initiating sustainable rural ecosystems for dual benefits of society and ecology. We have been practicing the grassroot level interventions to catalyze the bottom-up policy level changes. Our efforts are fueled by a young team of committed professionals.
